Cameron Green is going to get a team in IPL, worried McDonald

The 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is going to start next year. And Australian all-rounder Cameron Green is very sure to get a team there. However, Australian head coach Andrew MacDonald is very worried about getting Green’s team. Australia’s packed schedule next year will leave players with no time to catch their breath. As a result, the fitness and form of the players has left the coach worried. The coach is wondering if the cricketers will be fresh before going down to 22 yards of the field.

In an interview, MacDonald said, “Cricket has a busy schedule. The cricketers don’t get time to catch their breath. Is it a concern what the overall cricketer’s workload is going to be over the next 12 months? Of course, it’s a concern for any cricketer. That worries me. We’re with Green on that. We’ve talked a few times. It’s just a matter of seeing how he feels until the end of March.”

Currently, the ICC’s busy cricket schedule is joined by the pressure of playing T20 franchise leagues in different countries. Star players like Ben Stokes have retired from ODIs not being able to handle this pressure.

The Border-Gavaskar Test series will be held on Indian soil in February-March early next year. Then again the Ashes series in June-July. And IPL will be held in between. That’s what McDonald’s is worried about. He feels that it is difficult to perform in the game under such pressure.

MacDonald added, “I’m sure Green will play a lot of cricket before IPL. He won’t make his decision now, maybe he can think about it before IPL. If he plays IPL he might be tired. He might not be fit to play international cricket. Next 3 You never know how your body will be after months of over 9 Tests and a few ODIs.”

Young all-rounder Cameron Green has played 8 matches for Australia in T-20 cricket so far. He made two fifties with the bat. His strike rate of 173.75 also goes well with the era. On the other hand, Green has hunted 5 wickets with the ball. Due to which the coach understands that Green will be in the upcoming IPL auction. But the coach will also think that whether he plays or not depends on Green’s decision. Australian captain Pat Cummins has decided not to play in IPL earlier due to workload. Time will tell what Greene decides.
