CA announce a star-studded Aussie squad with some promising rookies for T20 World Cup 2021

The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 is going to start on October 17 this year in Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Cricket Australia (CA) has announced a strong squad for the event. Australia’s star players have returned to the 15-member squad.

Earlier this month, Australia visited Bangladesh for a 5-match T20I series and returned home with the shame of losing the series 4-1. Besides that, there were allegations of quarreling with the players against coach Justin Langer too. But forgetting all these, CA has focused on the T20 World Cup 2021, the team needs to move forward.

The series against Bangladesh has also brought some benefits to a number of Australian players. Nathan Ellis scored a hat-trick against Bangladesh, Dan Christian hit five sixes in an over off Shakib. Both of them have been kept as reserved players for the tournament. Mitchell Marsh is also in the main squad. However, failure on the ground of Bangladesh has brought disaster for Alex Carey.

Australia has also included an unnamed player in the T20 World Cup 2021 squad. Top-order batsman Josh Inglis has been called up to the national team for the first time after scoring 531 runs with two centuries at an average of 48.27 in the last vitality blast with a strike rate of 175.82. He may make his debut in the T20 World Cup 2021.

Meanwhile, star cricketers like Steve Smith, David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, and Pat Cummins have been selected to the team. Mitchell Swepson is the third spinner along with Ashton Agar and Adam Zampa.

The matches of the Super 12 of the T20 World Cup 2021 will start after Round 1. Australia and South Africa will meet in the first match of the Super 12 on October 23. Their matches against England and West Indies are on October 30 and November 6, respectively. On October 28 and November 4, Australia will face the two teams that advanced from Round 1.

Aaron Finch (c), Pat Cummins (vc), David Warner, Matthew Wade, Steve Smith, Josh Inglis, Mitchell Marsh, Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Ashton Agar, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Kane Richardson, Adam Zampa and Mitchell Swepson. 
Travelling reserves: Dan Christian, Daniel Sams and Nathan Ellis.
