The third season of the Lanka Premier League began on December 6 and will end on December 23. BJ Sports will serve as the competition’s official League Partner this year.

Colombo will host the Sri Lanka Premier League (LPL) in 2022. The LPL 2022 was initially slated to run from August 1 to August 21; however, just weeks before the opening game, the tournament had to be postponed indefinitely due to the nation’s economic difficulties.

After a three-month delay, the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2022 kicked up on Tuesday, December 6. The defending champion Jaffna Kings will take on the runner-up Galle Gladiators in the tournament’s opening game.

The 24-match competition will only be held at three locations. Hambantota will host the first few games, followed by Kandy. Similarly, Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium will host the final ten games, including the semifinal and championship matches.

The round-robin stage of the tournament will feature two games between each of the five teams, Jaffna Kings, Galle Gladiators, Colombo Stars, Kandy Falcons, and Dambulla Giants before one is eliminated.
