Bangladesh Women become unbeaten champions in World Cup qualifiers

Bangladesh women’s cricket team has performed brilliantly in the qualifiers of the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup. No one could beat Nigar Sultana Jyoti’s team in Abu Dhabi. By winning all the matches of the qualifiers, the Tigresses got the taste of the champion. Along with that, Bangladesh made advanced to the main stage of the World Cup.

Bangladesh women faced Ireland in the qualifier final on Sunday. Bangladesh managed to score 120 runs after losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs by batting earlier in the match. In response, Ireland could not score an easy target. As a result, the Tigers were crowned Champion of the qualifier for the third time in a row with a 7-run win.

Earlier on September 18, Bangladesh women started the qualifying round with a 14-run win against Ireland women. Then Jyoti’s side got a big win against Scotland by 6 wickets. In the next match, they beat the United States by 55 runs. On the way to the final, Bangladesh defeated Thailand by 11 runs in the semi-final.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh is confirmed to play in the main stage of the World Cup just after reaching the final of the qualifiers. Despite losing to Bangladesh in the final, Ireland got the ticket for the main round. Note that in 2018 and 2019, Bangladesh became the champion of the qualifier. Besides, became the runner-up in 2015. The Tigers played as hosts in the 2014 World Cup.
