BAN vs IND (3rd ODI) – Highlights

India and Bangladesh met in the final match of the three-match ODI series yesterday at Chittagong. Batting first in that match, India set a huge target. When Bangladesh went down to chase that target, the scheduled 50 overs were ended. As a result, they won the series but lost the last match. On the other hand, India survived the whitewash with a win in the last match. Besides, Ishan Kishan won the Man of the Match title for India due to his double century and Mehidy Hasan Miraz won the Man of the Series title for Bangladesh.

Tiger captain Liton Das won the toss and decided to bowl in the third and last ODI of the series at Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. In the fifth over of the innings, Mehidy Hasan Miraj found the wicket with the ball in hand. He sent veteran Shikhar Dhawan (3) back with the help of LBW on his first ball.

After that Kishan and Kohli formed a big pair. Both the chances of getting out arose in the 19th and 20th overs of the innings. But unfortunately, Bangladesh did not get a single wicket. After losing India’s first wicket by 15 runs, Kishan-Kohli put together a devastating partnership of 290 runs off 190 balls. Kishan was the most dangerous among them.

The left-hander scored a century in 85 balls and made his career’s first ODI century a double, in 126 balls. Which is the fastest double century in ODI history. Finally, Taskin Ahmed showed the batter, a way to the dressing room. Ishan’s epic innings of 210 off 131 balls included 24 fours and 10 sixes.

Then Ebadot dismissed Iyer and Rahul in two consecutive overs. Iyer was caught by Liton Das for 3 runs, and Lokesh Rahul (8) was bowled by the tiger pacer.

Kohli brought up his 44th career ODI century, the fourth against Bangladesh. The Indian batting pillar was finally caught by Shakib. Kohli’s innings of 113 runs off 91 balls had 11 fours and 2 sixes. Finally, Axar Patel played 20 off 17 balls and Washington Sundar played an innings of 37 runs off 27 balls. All in all, India made a mountain of 409 runs for 8 wickets in the last ODI.

Bangladesh’s Ebadot Hossain, Shakib Al Hasan, and Taskin Ahmed took two wickets each. Apart from this, Mustafizur Rahman and Mehidy Hasan Miraz got one wicket each.

A target of 410 runs. It was as if Bangladesh had already lost before coming down to bat. However, the responsible batting that everyone expected from the batsmen chasing big runs was not seen.

Rather, Bangladesh batsmen were all out after scoring 182 runs in 34 overs. As a result, the Tigers had to accept the defeat by a huge margin of 227 runs. The entire Bangladesh team scored 28 runs less than the runs scored by Indian opener Ishan Kishan alone (210).

Shakib Al Hasan scored the maximum 43 runs. Liton Das scored 29 runs. Yasir Ali Rabbi 25 and Mahmudullah Riyad out for 20 runs. Taskin and Mustafiz’s tenacity in the end only narrowed the margin of defeat. Taskin remained unbeaten on 17 runs. He hit 2 sixes. Mustafiz got out after scoring 13 runs. Besides, Enamul Haque scored 8 runs, Mushfiqur Rahim scored 7 runs, Afif Hossain scored 8 runs, Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 3 runs, and Ebadot Hossain hit a golden duck.

Shardul Thakur took 3 wickets for India, and Axar Patel and Umran Malik took 2 wickets each. Mohammad Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Washington Sundar took 1 wicket each.
