Aqib Javed: Babar-Rizwan will not be able to win the title for Pakistan

Pakistan is one of the superpowers of the cricket world. Over the ages, the country has given many cricketers to world cricket. Pakistan also has cricketers who alone can change a match as Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi are doing well in recent times.

Before the T20 World Cup in Australia in October, Babar, Shaheen Afridi or Mohammad Rizwan are one of Pakistan’s hopes, but the country’s former cricketer Aqib Javed made the opposite comment. According to him, Babar-Rizwan will not be able to bring Pakistan the title even if they are brilliant in personal success.

Currently, Pakistan’s two openers Babar and Rizwan are in the top three of the ICC batsman rankings. However, Aqib feels that the style of play of these two batsmen, who are always bright in their personal success, is dangerous for the team. He cited the recent Asia Cup performance as an example.

Aqib said, “These two openers are not going to win you tournaments. Take the two openers [Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan], the number one and number two players in the world. But such a player should know what to do. The vice-captain plays for 15 overs – starts playing when the asking rate is 8 and leaves after taking it to 17.”

Aqib felt the need for experienced Shoaib Malik in the middle order of the team. The former criticized the selectors for dropping Shoaib without creating a suitable alternative. Even as many cricketers are being dropped for no reason, Akib also claims that many are getting opportunities again and again for no reason.

It should be noted that Pakistan is going to play with the goal of becoming the champion for the third time in this year’s Asia Cup. Babar Azam was out of form in the tournament. Although Rizwan was the highest run scorer, Rizwan’s batting was questionable in Pakistan’s 23-run loss to Sri Lanka in the final. Since then, these two cricketers have been criticized. These comments of Aqib Javed poured oil on the fire!
