Amir wants to return to the national team again

Pakistan’s cricket team has always had internal conflicts. Because of this dispute players dropped out at various times, with some taking tough decisions such as retirement. One such cricketer is Mohammad Amir. At the end of 2020, the left-handed pacer announced that he would not play in the national team jersey.

However, Amir also told the reason during his retirement. He took this decision after being angry with Pakistan’s then-head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis. However, Amir also informed me that if there is a change in the coaching panel, he will play on the national team again. It was clear from his words that he was completely unhappy with the coaching panel.

This time, however, that opportunity has come in front of Amir. The coaching panel, the entire Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has undergone massive changes. This creates Aamir’s path to come out of retirement and play again in the national team is going to be easy. Instead of Ramiz Raja, Najam Shetty is now in the chair of PCB president, and former national captain Shahid Afridi is the chief selector.

Ramiz is not here. It can be said that none of those who have a conflict with Amir is on the board. So, this star pacer of Pakistan wants to return to the national team again. In an interview, Amir said, “God willing, I will play for Pakistan again. The current president, Najam Shetty, is very kind to me. He asked me to practice at the National Hi Performance Unit.”

Notably, Amir has played 61 ODIs, 50 T20s and 36 Test matches in Pakistan’s jersey. Amir has taken a total of 259 wickets in three formats. This pacer is still in his 30s. Wherever he is playing in the domestic leagues, he is showing prowess. Because of that, Amir has a strong chance of playing in the national team again if the PCB becomes sincere.
