A relief victory for Team Bangladesh in the 400th match milestone

The third match of the ODI series against Zimbabwe in Harare could have been a celebration and joy for Bangladesh. But whatever the occasion, the true color of this match was lost in the second ODI, with the Tigers losing the series. However, to avoid a whitewash, it was very necessary for Bangladesh to win the last match.

As usual, Bangladesh lost the toss and batted first. Two openers, Tamim Iqbal and Enamul Haque Bijoy started cautiously and the team managed to build up runs slowly. However, after Tamim’s dismissal for 41 runs, Bangladesh lost two more wickets. By that time the danger sirens were blowing on Bangladesh’s scorecard, 47 runs for 3 wickets.

From there, however, Mahmudullah Riyad moved forward slowly. At the other end, Bijoy played the important role of keeping the wheels of runs moving. He scored 76 runs off 71 balls before being caught by the wicketkeeper. Afif Hossain Dhrubo did the rest after Bijoy’s departure. In the end, he played an innings of 84 runs off 81 balls and brought the team a collection of 256 runs.

Zimbabwe’s batting front collapsed early on in response. Sikandar Razas, who gave away wickets at regular intervals, were bowled out for 151 runs. As a result, Bangladesh left the field with a big victory of 105 runs. And by that Tamim also made memorable the milestone of their 400th ODI match.

Bangladesh played the 400th ODI match as the 10th cricket playing country in the world. Where Shakib, Tamim have been able to fly the flag of victory in 144 matches. But the number of loss is high. Bangladesh lost 249 matches. Earlier, Bangladesh won the 100th and 200th matches but lost in the 300th match. This time the Tigers won the 400th match.
