9 Bangladeshi cricketers in the Women’s IPL auction

The cricket world is dominated by franchise leagues. Among them, the Indian Premier League (IPL) is at the top of the list. India is going to organize this T20 league for women. Naturally, women cricketers from different countries are looking forward to playing in this league. Before that, the women’s IPL player draft will be held. 9 Bangladeshis got a place there.

The Women’s IPL Player Draft will be held on February 13 in Mumbai, India. A total of 1525 domestic and foreign cricketers have submitted their names in that draft. Although not many names were kept in the final list. A total of 409 cricketers got a place in the draft. There Were 246 local and 163 foreign cricketers. Among those foreigners, 9 cricketers have got an opportunity from Bangladesh.

Jahanara Alam, who got a chance from Bangladesh, is in the pace bowler category. Salma Khatun is in the all-rounder category. Apart from this, other cricketers who got a chance in the draft are – Swarna Akhtar, Nigar Sultana Jyoti, Rumana Ahmed, Nahida Akhtar, Lata Mondal, Ritu Moni and Sobhana Mostari. To get the team from the draft, they will compete with cricketers from other countries.

Meanwhile, the highest base price for cricketers in this year’s IPL has been fixed at 50 lakh rupees. Indian stars like Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma and Shefali Verma are in this category. From the draft and direct signings, the franchises will be able to build the cricket team for a total of 15 to 18. A total of five teams will participate in the tournament.

It should be noted that star cricketers like Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman play from Bangladesh in the men’s IPL. In time Liton Kumar Das also got the team. Now it’s time for women. Recently, Jahanara and Salmara have been making their mark in world cricket. Whether they can take a chance in the IPL with that performance is a matter to be seen.
