India’s three-match ODI series against West Indies in 2026 turned into a memorable batting spectacle, with the hosts producing several outstanding individual performances. India completed a dominant series victory, with their batters consistently putting pressure on the West Indies bowling attack across the three matches.

The series witnessed record-breaking knocks from Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. While Gill emerged as the leading run-scorer for India, Kohli and Rohit also made significant contributions at the top of the order.

The second ODI in Guwahati was particularly remarkable, as India chased down 406 with 43 balls to spare. Gill smashed an unbeaten 223, while Rohit Sharma scored 101. India’s first ODI victory also featured centuries from Gill and Kohli.

Here are the top 3 run-getters for India in the ODI series vs WI:

1. Shubman Gill – 334 runs

Shubman Gill was the standout Indian batter in the series, finishing with 334 runs from three innings at an extraordinary average of 167.00. He also registered the highest individual score of the series with his unbeaten 223 in Guwahati.

Gill began the series with a brilliant 110 in the first ODI at Thiruvananthapuram. He followed it up with a record-breaking 223* in the second ODI, playing a defining role in India’s successful chase of 406.

His double-century came in just 117 balls and became a landmark innings in Indian ODI cricket. Gill also became the first Indian captain to score an ODI double-century, while his unbeaten 223 was the highest individual score by an Indian batter in an ODI chase.

Gill finished the series with 334 runs, 39 fours and nine sixes, underlining his dominance against the West Indies attack. His consistency at the top of the order was one of the major reasons behind India’s commanding batting performances.

2. Rohit Sharma – 198 runs

Rohit Sharma finished the series as India’s second-highest run-getter with 198 runs in three innings, averaging 99.00.

The veteran opener made an immediate impact in the second ODI, smashing a magnificent 101 off 75 balls in Guwahati. His century came during India’s record chase and included an aggressive combination of boundaries and sixes.

Rohit also added a crucial 92 in the third ODI at New Chandigarh. Although he narrowly missed another century, his innings provided stability after India lost Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli early. Rohit’s 92 came from 85 deliveries, with 10 fours and three sixes.

The former India captain also achieved a major milestone during the series by becoming the oldest Indian batter to score an ODI century at 39. His century in Guwahati was his 35th in the format.

With 198 runs across the three matches, Rohit demonstrated that his experience remains a major component of India’s ODI batting setup.

3. Virat Kohli – 168 runs

Virat Kohli completed the series with 168 runs from three innings, averaging 84.00. His most memorable contribution came in the opening ODI, when he produced a brilliant unbeaten 139 off 88 balls to guide India to victory.

Kohli walked in after Rohit Sharma’s dismissal in the first ODI and immediately established control over the chase. Alongside Gill, he forged a crucial 151-run partnership that effectively took the game away from West Indies.

His century was also historic as Kohli became only the second batter after Sachin Tendulkar to reach 15,000 ODI runs. The knock was his 55th ODI century.

Kohli’s ability to accelerate without compromising his control made his innings one of the defining performances of the series. Despite being dismissed cheaply in the third ODI, his 168 runs were enough to place him among India’s leading run-scorers.
