Ravindra Jadeja slid down the top 10 bowlers’ ICC rankings in men’s Tests after his outing in India’s first Test of the ongoing series against England. Jadeja was alongside a few other team members who did not have the best of games at Headingley.
As far as the spin-bowling all-rounder’s performance is concerned, he scored 11 off 15 and 25* off 40 in India’s first and second innings, respectively. However, it was his display with the ball which was more underwhelming. He bowled a total of 47 overs across both innings. Other than the wicket of Ben Stokes (33 off 51) in the second innings, he could not secure a single breakthrough.
This lackluster performance made his position slip to 13th. As of Wednesday, June 25, Jadeja possesses a rating of 706. This marks a significant event in his Test career. For the majority of it, he has been a part of the top 10 bowlers. Jadeja held the first position between March 2017 and August 2017.
