2023 World Cup will be the last chapter of Shakib-Tamim’s career?  

The Bangladesh cricket team was celebrating at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. Why won’t they do that, the start of the Caribbean tour was not a happy one for the Tigers. They lost the Test and T20 series one by one. However, Tamim Iqbal’s team is back in rhythm again. And after getting a happy lead in this, the captain has ensured five consecutive series wins this year. At the end of the second match, Tamim was smiling. 

However, there is another big reason for that smile on Tamim’s face. Team Bangladesh was on the backfoot after losing the Test and T20 series. The condition of the dressing room was also not very good. The ODI captain wanted to bring back the atmosphere in the dressing room, and he succeeded. After the match, Tamim said, ‘We lost the Test and T20 series. No one was in a good mood in the dressing room. Everyone wants to win (ODI). This result is so pleasing.’ 

Captain Tamim is leading the team from the front in ODIs. He pulled the team from the edge of the ditch. So it is normal to have a big smile on the captain’s face. This time Tamim’s goal is 2023 World Cup. The dashing opener aims to perform as per their plans by creating a combination for the World Cup. He also informed that the 2023 World Cup may be the last World Cup in the career of four Pandavas. 

Tamim said at the award ceremony, ”The 2023 World Cup will probably be one of the biggest events for all of us. Especially the four of us, (me, Shakib, Mushfiqur and Mahmudullah) who will probably end there (career). We have to create the best combination possible and the team has to move forward.”
