Graham Clark, who came in at No. 3, played a steady knock of 26 off 21 balls before Taijul Islam bowled him. Despite losing these wickets, Chittagong maintained an aggressive approach, with Haider Ali and Shamim Hossain providing the late flourish. Haider Ali remained unbeaten on 42 off just 23 balls, striking three fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 182.60. Meanwhile, Shamim Hossain played a quickfire 30 off 12 balls, ensuring Chittagong reached an imposing total of 206/4 in their 20 overs.
Fortune Barishal’s bowling struggled against Chittagong’s aggressive intent. Ebadot Hossain was the most economical, giving away just 19 runs in his four overs while picking up a crucial wicket. However, the rest of the bowlers, including Taijul Islam (2/46), Mohammad Nabi (1/22), and James Fuller (0/41), failed to contain the run flow.
Chasing a stiff target of 207, BRSAL needed a strong start but faltered early. Captain Tamim Iqbal fell for a duck in the very first over, caught by Khawaja Nafay off Binura Fernando. Towhid Hridoy followed soon after, managing only 9 runs off 11 balls before Khaled Ahmed dismissed him in the 5th over.
The highlight of Barishal’s innings was Dawid Malan’s stunning knock of 67 off 34 balls. The English batter counterattacked with five fours and six sixes, scoring at an astonishing strike rate of 197.05. His aggressive batting kept Barishal in the hunt. However, his dismissal in the 14th over, caught by Graham Clark off Al Islam, turned the tide in Chittagong’s favor.

Towards the end, James Fuller (18 off 11) and Rishad Hossain (11 off 10) tried to push the scoring rate, but Binura Fernando’s disciplined bowling ensured that Chittagong Kings had the upper hand. Barishal finished at 182/7 in 20 overs, falling 24 runs short of the target.
Chittagong Kings’ bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, with Binura Fernando leading the attack with figures of 2/18 in four overs, including a maiden. Al Islam was also impressive, picking up 2/32 in his four-over spell, while Arafat Sunny and Khaled Ahmed chipped in with a wicket each. Despite some expensive overs from Shoriful Islam (0/43) and Khaled Ahmed (1/47), Chittagong’s early breakthroughs and effective death bowling secured their win.
