Yuzvendra Chahal is the highest wicket-taker in the history of the Indian Premier League. The spinner has played 160 matches so far in the IPL and has grabbed 205 wickets at an average of 22.45 and an economy rate of 7.84. In the last season, he was part of Rajasthan Royals but was released ahead of IPL 2025 auctions. Subsequently, the Haryana cricketer started bidding wars between the teams.
As it stands out, the spinner fetched a whopping 18 crore from Punjab Kings, where he entered with a base price of 2 crore. His appraisal was a staggering 177 per cent. It is worth noting that, the right-arm spinner began his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians in 2011. But his popularity skyrocketed during his stay with Royal Challengers Bengaluru from 2014 to 2021.

Chahal’s prowess could be further gauged by the fact that playing for RCB, he did wonders for the franchise. The facts are that their home ground, M Chinnaswamy Stadium is considered the smallest of the lot in India, and the bowler has spent seven of 13 years playing in IPL. Now that the 34-year-old has got the highest bid in his IPL career, Chahal will be earning 5.36 lakh for every ball he bowls in the IPL 2025.
