Legendary former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was spotted in Chandigarh with Gujarat Titans’ (GT) captain Shubman Gill ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 playoffs. This has led to speculations on whether the World Cup-winning cricketer has donned a coaching role at the Gujarat-based franchise for the business end of the tournament.

The 2022 champions posted a picture of Yuvraj and Shubman walking side by side and in the caption, wrote: “Ki haal chaal, #TitansFAM?” The Titans, who have already secured a spot in the playoffs, will either play in Qualifier 1 or the Eliminator at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. They are currently placed at No. 2 on the points table but can slip to No. 3 if Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) manage to beat Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the last game of the round-robin phase of the tournament.

It is interesting to note that before the season, some reports claimed that Yuvraj was in contention to replace Ashish Nehra as the new head coach of the Titans. The former shares a great relationship with both Nehra and Shubman. He played a significant role in helping Shubman hone his batting skills, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the end, Gujarat continued with Nehra, and the team has done quite well under his guidance in IPL 2025 after last year’s debacle. The Titans have won nine out of the 14 games that they have played this season. However, they will be heading into the playoffs on the back of two consecutive defeats against LSG and Chennai Super Kings.

If Yuvraj joins GT’s coaching staff, even if it’s for a short period, it could be highly beneficial for the players as the 43-year-old knows how to win titles. He has won the T20 World Cup, the ODI World Cup, and two IPL titles.
