Who won Delhi Capitals Women vs Gujarat Giants Women Eliminator today? — Match result & turning points
Delhi Capitals created history by beating Gujarat Giants to qualify for the finale against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women. This will be DC’s fourth successive WPL final, though they have lost all three previously.
The Eliminator at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara saw the Capitals register a commanding seven-wicket victory as they comfortably chasing down 168, with Lizelle Lee leading the charge with a fluent 43 off just 24 deliveries and Jemimah Rodrigues playing a vital role with a quick 41 off 23. The duo ensured a smooth chase as Delhi Capitals raced to 169/3 in just 15.4 overs. Shafali Varma (31 off 21) and Laura Woolvardt (unbeaten 32 off 24) also made crucial contributions in the chase.
Earlier in the day, GG scored 168/7 on the back of Beth Mooney’s unbeaten 62 off 51, including six fours. She almost fought alone with little to no support from the batters around her, with only Georgia Wareham showing some fight in his 35-run knock off 25 balls. Chinelle Henry returned with figures of 3 for 35 while Nandani Sharma was quite expensive, leaking 44 runs for two wickets.
