The inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 has been sensational for some franchises, whereas the same has not been the case for a few. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians (MI-W) have been extraordinary in the competition as they have won all four matches they have played in the season.

MI are dominating every opponent they face and are one of the biggest favorites for the coveted inaugural title. They won the season opener against Gujarat Giants (GUJ-W) and followed it up with comprehensive victories against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, and UP Warriorz

They once again take on Gujarat Giants in the 12th match of the tournament. Meanwhile, the Giants are at the other end of the spectrum, as they have only won a single game, against Royal Challengers Bangalore, out of the four they have played.

Pitch & Conditions

The pitch at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai favors batters quite a bit; the side batting first will look to score some big runs, and a high-scoring contest can be expected.

Probable Playing XIs for MI-W vs GUJ-W

Mumbai Indians Women

Mumbai Indians are yet to lose a match and they will look to field a similar line-up that has been working for them so far.

Probable XI: Yastika Bhatia (wk), Hayley Matthews, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Dhara Gujjar, Amelia Kerr, Issy Wong, Amanjot Kaur, Humaira Kazi, Jintimani Kalita, Saika Ishaque

Gujarat Giants’ celebrations after their first win of the tournament were short-lived, as they suffered a 10-wicket loss in their very next game against Delhi Capitals. Laura Wolvaardt, who was brought in as a replacement for injured Beth Mooney, has failed to impress as well.
