The coveted IPL 2025 is turning out to be a phenomenal season for Virat Kohli and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Notably, the side is currently enjoying a great run. The legendary opening batter is once again the top run-getter for the team as well.

There is no doubt that Virat is one of the best batters in modern-day cricket, having dominated many of the top bowlers throughout his career. However, one question always lingers in everyone’s mind: Who is the toughest bowler the Indian cricketing legend has faced?

A fan asked this interesting question during a media interaction, to which the RCB legend named the bowlers he considered the toughest in each format of the game. Virat Kohli mentioned England’s legendary pacer James Anderson in Test matches, Sunil Narine in T20s, and named Lasith Malinga and Adil Rashid in 50-over cricket.

“Toughest bowler I’ve faced? Different people have given me a lot of challenges. In Test cricket, James Anderson in England was by far the toughest. In T20 cricket, I think Sunil Narine, for a consistent amount of time, 15 years, he is still very difficult to pick. This guy hits him for fun (referring to Rajat Patidar), but I can’t. In one-day cricket, I think (Lasith) Malinga was pretty good; he was difficult to face. Adil Rashid is very good, from England—probably the toughest ODI spinner that I have faced,” Kohli said during the media interaction.
