A hilarious moment occurred in the ongoing IPL 2025 match between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). After CSK lost Sam Curran in the third ball of the fifth over, Ravindra Jadeja walked in to bat at No. 4. So, as per the new rules, the umpires check the bat when a batter walks in and measure it with the device they have.

To ensure the size and dimensions of the bat as per the IPL rules, the umpires check the bats. The IPL committee came up with the rule not to give batters an unfair advantage by using a heavier bat, which will be a disadvantage for the bowlers. So, when Ravindra Jadeja came in and the umpires checked the bat, it didn’t get past the measuring device.

Hence, Jadeja dabbed it on the ground to reduce the bat’s size from the back. It was hilarious as the SRH players gathered, and Ishan Kishan made funny gestures towards Jadeja, saying that the bat couldn’t be used. A moment later, the South Paw changed his bat and hit a boundary on the first ball. The ball went to the boundary using a slight edge of the bat.

Watch the viral video of Ravindra Jadeja’s bat checking here:

CSK are in huge trouble

With the game against SRH being a do-or-die affair, CSK have lost four early wickets in the first ten overs. They lost Shaik Rasheed on a golden duck, and then Sam Curran walked back to the pavilion on just nine runs. Amidst the wickets, the 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre once again played an outstanding knock of 19-ball 30 runs.

He was the only batter who looked prepared and played like an experienced batter. After his wicket, Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed on 21 runs off 17 balls. Despite scoring one boundary and a maximum, the South Paw failed to continue with the momentum.

The middle order batters like Dewald Brewis, Deepak Hooda, Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni will have to make the most out of their home ground and play a solid knock to help the team set a defendable total on the board.
