Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) locked horns against each other at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday, April 7. Notably, both the sides were coming off tough losses and were hoping to get back to winning ways.

However, apart from the cricketing action, one moment that caught attention was the efforts from the stadium DJ to rally chants for ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah during his comeback match. However, fans ignored the request and went on to scream star batter Virat Kohli‘s name who was at the striker’s end. As Bumrah ran in to bowl the fourth ball of his second over, the DJ tried to initiate the classic “Boom Boom” chant, expecting fans to repeat with a “Bumrah!” response. But, the stadium broke out with chants of “Kohli, Kohli,” passing over the DJ’s cue.

Meanwhile, the batting maestro looked in great touch as he hammered 67 off 42 balls, anchoring the innings. Notably, in the fourth over, they faced off against each other for the first time in IPL 2025, with the Delhi-born hitting the second ball of the over, over the deep mid-wicket region for a huge six. The two were then seen sharing a happy shoulder push, after the pacer attempted to run out Kohli, who was at the non-striker’s end.

RCB, meanwhile, displayed their batting firepower in style. After losing Phil Salt early, Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal stitched a 91-run stand. Rajat Patidar accelerated after a slow start, hammering a 25-ball fifty, and Jitesh Sharma finished with a 40* off 19 balls. Despite MI pulling things back, RCB reached 221/5, making it the third-highest ever score against MI at Wankhede.
