The 24th match of the 2025 IPL season between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) took place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, where DC defeated RCB by six wickets to register their fourth win of the season. With this victory, DC stood at second place in the points table, while RCB stood at third.

RCB put up a competitive total of 163 runs on the board. The innings was kick-started by the opener Phil Salt, who played a quick-fire knock of 37 off just 17 balls. Despite some middle-order stumbles, Tim David’s unbeaten 37 off 20 balls in the latter stages ensured RCB finished strong. For DC, Kuldeep Yadav and young leg-spinner Vipraj Nigam impressed with the ball, picking up two wickets each and maintaining tight lines.

In response, DC had a shaky start as they lost early wickets. However, Bengaluru-born KL Rahul anchored the innings brilliantly, stitching together a match-winning partnership with South African batter Tristan Stubbs. Rahul remained unbeaten on 93 off 53 balls, an innings comprised of seven fours and six sixes. Stubbs provided solid support with an unbeaten 38 off 23 balls, and the duo added 111 runs in just 55 balls to seal the win for DC.

After his stunning match-winning performance against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, KL Rahul made a bold statement, declaring “This is my land” in celebration. His fearless knock, which included 7 boundaries and 6 sixes, not only sealed a dominant victory for Delhi Capitals but also symbolised his deep connection with the stadium. The declaration was more than just a celebration of his achievement; it was an assertion of his mastery on the ground where he had once called home during his RCB days. With his fiery performance and a pointed gesture toward the crowd, Rahul marked his territory, reminding everyone of his evolution into one of the most formidable batsmen in the IPL.

The match concluded in style as KL Rahul struck a six over fine leg to finish the game. In a winning moment, he gestured towards the crowd and the squad, pointing at the ground to mark it as his home. The celebration quickly went viral, especially as the wicketkeeper-batter achieved this feat against his former franchise on his home turf.

RCB, who have now lost two games, will look to bounce back in their next fixture against Rajasthan Royals on April 13 in Jaipur. Meanwhile, DC will aim to extend their winning streak when they face Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
