There is huge hype for the upcoming Champions Trophy which will take place in Pakistan and Dubai starting from February 19. The tournament is just 15 days away and this will be the first time after 29 years that the country will host an ICC event.

While India will be playing all their matches in Dubai due to security issues, most of the others will be played in Pakistan in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Though there were suspicions of the stadiums being ready in time the craze for the tournament is only building up.

A long queue of people, who went to buy their tickets for the matches, was witnessed in Lahore on Monday, February 3. The scenes were shared by journalist Qadir Khawaja of Samaatv on social media.

“The physical sale of tickets for the Champions Trophy matches in Lahore has started, and cricket fans have been waiting for over two hours to get their tickets. Wow wow just wow what a craze,” Khawaja wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Speaking of the Pakistan team, they will be going into the tournament as the defending champions since they emerged victorious in the last edition by beating India in the final by 180 runs in 2017. The team will be led by Pakistan star wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan who will be captaining the side for the first time in an ICC event.

Pakistan are in Group A with arch-rivals India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh. They will start their campaign in Karachi against the BlackCaps which will also be the opening game of the tournament.
