The Delhi Capitals’ (DC) social media platforms shared a video of a dejected-looking David Miller after their one-run defeat to the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday, April 8.

Miller failed to score two runs off the final two balls to hand the 2022 champions their first win of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Having played an excellent knock of 41 from 20 deliveries, the South African batter failed to get his new side over the line, resulting in their first defeat of the new season. The 36-year-old was rightfully upset with the end result and was captured looking completely dejected in the changing room.

DC shared a video of Miller looking sad with the caption:

“Backing our Tiger, always. #RoarRoom.”

Chasing 211 in the second innings, DC needed 13 from the final over after getting a tremendous start thanks to KL Rahuls 52-ball 92. Once he was dismissed, Miller took over the mantle to finish the game for his side.

Vipraj Nigam struck a boundary off the very first ball from Prasidh Krishna. He was then dismissed on the next ball, which saw Kuldeep Yadav coming out to bat. The left-hander took a single to put Miller back on strike with eight runs needed from the last three balls.

Miller hit a six over long off to reduce the equation down to just two runs needed off two balls, with DC firm favourites to extend their winning run. He, however, did not take a single off the next ball to tie the game and guarantee a Super Over. Instead, with two needed off the last ball, Miller mistimed his shot, which went through to the wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, who ran Kuldeep out to give GT their first two points of the season.

Miller had previously played three seasons for GT, where he formed part of their title-winning squad in 2022.
