

Afghanistan faced Canada in Match 39 of the T20 World Cup 2026, their last group-stage clash in the tournament and a dead-rubber fixture. Ibrahim Zadran was involved in moment of the match, which came in the 19th over of Afghanistan’s innings.
Canada pacer Dilon Heyliger delivered a slower, fuller ball wide of off, looking to force a mistake at the death. Zadran read it early and dropped on one knee, opening the face of his bat to carve it over extra cover. The contact was right out of the middle, as the ball sailed 75 metres into the stands.
That six reflected the control Zadran showed throughout his innings. He finished unbeaten on 95 off 56 deliveries with seven fours and five sixes.
