The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a revision in the schedule of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.

The afternoon fixture between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings, originally scheduled to be played in Ahmedabad on April 26, 2026, will now be held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, with the match starting at 03:30 PM IST.

Accordingly, the reverse fixture between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans, scheduled to be played on May 21, 2026, in the evening, will now be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, with the match set to begin at 07:30 PM IST.

The change has been necessitated in view of the municipal corporation elections in Ahmedabad and other parts of Gujarat scheduled on April 26, 2026.

IPL 2026: Updated Schedule of Revised Matches between CSK and GT

Match No Teams Date Original Venue Revised Venue Time (IST)
37 Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings April 26 Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai 3:30 PM
66 Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans May 21 MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad 7:30 PM

Speaking of GT, the Ahmedabad-based franchise has already won a couple of games out of the four matches they have played thus far. They started their campaign with a couple of losses against Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals but came back brilliantly to thrash Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants in their next couple of games. They are currently fourth on the IPL 2026 points table.

On the other hand, CSK are having a horrendous campaign in the ongoing nineteenth edition of the marquee tournament. They lost to RR in their opener, followed by conceding a couple of more games against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab. However, they showed a terrific sign of a comeback, thumping Delhi Capitals by 23 runs in their fourth game. They find themselves ninth on the table currently.
