UP Warriorz Women entered the Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction in a notably risky manner, choosing to retain only one player ahead of the event. They kept Shweta Sehrawat for INR 50 lakh, while releasing senior stars Deepti Sharma, Alyssa Healy, and Sophie Ecclestone just before the auction.

The franchise has never finished in the top two in any WPL season, with their best performance coming in the inaugural edition, where they ended third on the table. Heading into the 2026 mega-auction, UP Warriorz had a strong purse of INR 14.5 crore and held four Right-to-Match (RTM) cards.
