India Women have been in action in the T20I format throughout the year, playing series away in England, Australia and South Africa, along with their participation in the T20 World Cup in June and the Asia Cup in Dubai. The team were unable to secure a semi-final berth out of a group consisting of Australia and South Africa in the T20 World Cup, but put on a respectable showing with bat and ball.

India’s highest wicket-taker in women’s T20Is has had yet another productive year with the ball in the shortest format. Deepti Sharma now stands as India’s senior bowler and has provided crucial breakthroughs with the ball. The off-spinner has picked up 24 wickets in 19 matches, featuring in all games India have played this year.
