MS Dhoni ended his social media hiatus and posted a special message for the Indian players and head coach Gautam Gambhir after the Men in Blue became the first side to retain the T20 World Cup title. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter likes to stay away from the limelight, but his insane fan following doesn’t allow that to happen.

Dhoni was seen in attendance during India’s semi-final against England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday. In the final against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Dhoni brought the T20 World Cup title to the ground alongside Rohit Sharma moments before the start of the match.

The legendary former India captain watched the riveting action, with India posting 255/5 in their first innings. In reply, New Zealand huffed and puffed their way to 159, losing to India by 96 runs.

After the match, Dhoni, who was spotted in the VVIP box alongside Rohit Sharma and Jay Shah throughout the final, took to Instagram to share his joy with a rare post that immediately sent the internet into a frenzy. In his post, Dhoni said that Gambhir’s smile looks great on him.

“Coach Sahab smile looks great on you. Intensity with smile is a killer combo, very well done,” the former Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batter wrote.

“History gets created at Ahmedabad. Big congratulations to the team and support staff and to all the fans of the Indian Cricket Team worldwide. Such a pleasure to see all of you play.” he added.
