Nitish Kumar Reddy has been a part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise since IPL 2023. The star all-rounder has played 28 matches for the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) champions and scored 485 runs and picked up five wickets. After performing impressively in IPL 2024, Reddy made his international debut for India. He has played seven Tests and four T20Is so far. The 22-year-old was a part of India’s squad in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, but he picked up an injury and was ruled out of the last two games.

Over the past week, there have been reports of Reddy not being too happy with his role at the Pat Cummins-led franchise. The same reports have suggested that he wants to part ways with SRH and join a new franchise ahead of IPL 2026.

However, Reddy quashed the reports on Sunday, July 27, by putting out a tweet on his official ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) handle, saying that he shares a bond which is built on trust, respect, and years of shared passion with SRH. He stated that he will always stand by the Orange Army.

“I tend to stay away from the noise, but some things deserve clarity. My connection with SRH is built on trust, respect, and years of shared passion. I’ll always stand by this team,” Reddy tweeted.

Nitish played just two matches in his first season in 2023. However, he became a household name with his performances in 2024. This year, however, the Visakhapatnam-born disappointed big time, as he scored just 182 runs at an average of 22.75 and a strike rate of 118.95 in 13 matches. He was retained for INR 6 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction.
