The Pakistan players failed to impress the fans in the Champions Trophy 2025 event as they could not win a single game during the tournament. However, the season is not over and some Pakistan star players are currently playing domestic cricket after their exit from the ICC event.

The last tournament that is being played in the nation is the President’s Trophy grade-1 which features some big stars of the country. One of the batting stars who is featuring in this first-class tournament is talented left-handed batter Saud Shakeel. He is playing for State Bank of Pakistan against Pakistan Television in the final match. Shakeel was set to bat at number five but in the end, became the first Pakistan batter to be timed out and did not get the opportunity to face a delivery during the match.

The State Bank of Pakistan went on to lose consecutive wickets after a great start by the openers and it turned out that Shakeel had fallen asleep during the match and failed to reach the batting crease in the given three-minute time limit. Team Pakistan TV skipper Amad Butt also promptly appealed to the umpire which led to the Saud getting straight away disqualified in the first innings of the match. This was a disappointing moment for the middle-order batter who also has played some great innings for Pakistan in the red ball format.

Sri Lanka’s Angelo Mathews getting timed out in ODI World Cup 2023

The last time people witnessed a batter getting timed out in competitive cricket was in the 2023 ODI World Cup match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The batter who was dismissed in this fashion was Sri Lanka’s legendary all-rounder Angelo Mathews who had a problem with the strap of his helmet. The then Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan appealed this to the onfield umpires.
