Ravindra Jadeja is one of the best all-rounders in the history of the IPL. The star player has an amazing legacy to his name. Having played for CSK most of his career, Jadeja is one of the fewest players to have won 4 or more titles with the same team. Recently in the IPL 2024, the 35-year-old became the first player to achieve the triplet of 2000 runs, 100 catches, and 100 wickets in the history of the league. At his best, Jadeja can singlehandedly win matches for his side.

In the last game against PBKS, he gave one of the best performances for a player in an IPL match. Some of the best performances of Jadeja in recent times have come against GT, CSK’s upcoming opponent in the league. The Southpaw won the IPL final for CSK with his miserly spell and brilliant finishing in 2023. Despite playing only 5 games against the 2022 champions, the star player has a good record against the side and would be hoping to improve it.

In the 59th match of the IPL 2024, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will be taking on each other. The match is set to take place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on the 10th of May 2024 at 7:30 PM (IST). Both teams have had a contrasting journey in the league so far. While CSK has 6 wins in their 11 matches, GT has just 4 wins in their 11 matches. CSK is placed in the top half at the fourth position in the points table. PBKS is placed in the bottom half, in the last position in the table.

Memorable performance against Gujarat Titans

Jadeja will be remembered for his heroics in the final of the IPL 2023. Bowling first, CSK conceded a huge total of 214 runs against GT. Jadeja was the best bowler of the side with his 1/38 including the big wicket of Shubman Gill. With the bat, he scored an unbeaten 15*(6). Out of them, 10 runs came in the last 2 balls, when CSK needed 9 runs to win. If not for his knock. CSK would not have won the final which had a revised total due to the interruption of rain.

In the same season, CSK played GT in the first Qualifier. The star player was brilliant both with the bat and with the ball. Batting first, CSK posted a good total of 172 runs on the board. Jadeja scored 22 runs in 16 balls which included 2 fours. Defending 173, the Rockstar bowled an exceptional spell. In his 4 overs, the left-arm orthodox spinner conceded just 18 runs and claimed the wickets of Dasun Shanaka and David Miller. CSK won the match by 15 runs.

Key Battles for Ravindra Jadeja against Gujarat Titans

Noor Ahmad – As a batter, Jadeja will have a difficult time against Noor Ahmad. The star player is a bit vulnerable against spinners. The chinaman spinner is arguably the best bowler of GT in the last couple of seasons. As Jadeja is often promoted up the order, he has a good chance of facing Ahmad. The CSK batter needs to work on his strike rotation against the spinners. The Afghanistan spinner can make use of the conditions that are likely to be on the slower side.

Shah Rukh Khan – As a bowler, Jadeja is one of the most economical bowlers in the history of the league. His biggest challenge would be Shahrukh Khan. The left-arm orthodox spinner will have to bowl a good spell against Khan, who has been good in the last couple of innings. While the GT batter is aggressive, Jadeja can make an impact with his spell. The key for the CSK bowler would be to operate at good lengths and not give room for the TN batter.

Ravindra Jadeja’s Record and Stats against Gujarat Titans
