PSL 2025: PCB to pay extra USD 100,000 to elite foreign players for ensuring availability

PSL 2025: PCB to pay extra USD 100,000 to elite foreign players for ensuring availability

Pakistan Super League (PSL 2025) will be the tenth edition of the premier T20 tournament, and will see some of the best home-grown as well as international stars participating. David Warner, Shai Hope, and Daryl Mitchell are among the big international players who are set to make their presence felt in the upcoming edition of the tournament.

The organizer, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), in a bid to reward the international players who have ensured their availability for the tournament, has decided to pay an additional US$ 100,000 (One Lakh American Dollars). A PCB official confirmed the development that the board has decided to pay the fees out of the special fund designated to reward high-profile international cricketers.

“David Warner for example came on board for a fee of USD 300,000 and 100,000 of this will be paid to him by the PCB from the special fund, The PCB will use this fund to assist in paying some of the elite players who signed on during the players draft,” said a PSL official as quoted by NDTV Sports.

For the unversed, the tenth edition of the cash-rich tournament will run from April 17 and up until May 22. The dates have been slightly postponed this time round due to Pakistan hosting the ICC Champions Trophy alongside Dubai, in the UAE. The dates collides directly with the Indian Premier League (IPL), which begins on March 21. Those who were unsold at the IPL Mega Auction, and were a part of the PSL draft will be seen participating in the Pakistani tournament.

The previous highest-paid players in the PSL were West Indies T20 legend Kieron Pollard (USD 250,000) and former South African legendary batter AB de Villiers (USD 230,000). With this extra pay from the PCB, there is a chance that this record could be broken this season.
