In a recent development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has banned Corbin Bosch for not participating in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. The South Africa cricketer had pulled out of the tournament even before the commencement, and had joined Mumbai Indians (MI) to play in the Indian Premier League.

Notably, Bosch had not taken any no-objection certificate (NOC) from his PSL franchise Peshawar Zalmi before signing a contract with Mumbai Indians as an injury replacement for Lizaad Williams. As a result, the Pakistani board has now banned him for twelve months, meaning that the all-rounder won’t be eligible to take part in PSL 2026 as well.

“The all-rounder will serve a one-year ban and will not be eligible for selection in next year’s Pakistan Super League,” a statement from the board read.

Deeply regret my decision: Bosch

Soon after PCB’s decision came out, Bosch released a statement of apology to PCB for leaving the tournament in such a manner. He was with the Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL. Apart from the ban, he will be imposed with some penalties as well. The player mentioned it in his statement, saying he ‘accepts the consequences.’

“I deeply regret my decision to withdraw from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi and the wider cricket community. The PSL is a prestigious tournament, and I fully understand the disappointment caused by my actions. To the loyal fans of Peshawar Zalmi, I am truly sorry for letting you down,” the MI cricketer said in his response.

“I take full responsibility for my actions and accept the consequences, including the penalty fine and the one-year ban from the PSL. This has been a hard lesson, but I am committed to learning from this experience and hope to return to the PSL in the future with renewed dedication and the trust of the fans,” he added further.
