The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly prepared a backup plan in case they opt not to participate in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026, which will be co-hosted across India and Sri Lanka from February 7. The final decision on whether the Men in Green will participate in the twenty-team tournament will be taken by the board on Sunday.

Pakistan, placed in Group A alongside Namibia, India, the Netherlands, and the United States of America, are originally slated to open their campaign on February 7 in Colombo. However, the PCB has been holding the decision to confirm whether they will be travelling to the island nation to play the multinational event.

If they do, the PCB will be unveiling their kit for the T20 World Cup, but if not, Plan B is to divide the senior national team, Pakistan A and the Pakistan Under-19 side into four squads and host a tournament in the ‘free’ time at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, as reported by Daily Ausaf.
