The second ODI between Ireland and the West Indies will take place on Friday, May 23, at The Village, Dublin. After a commanding victory in the first match, Ireland will look to seal the three-match ODI series. In the first match, the hosts batted first after losing the toss. However, they scored 303 runs in the first innings, thanks to Andrew Balbirnie’s century and captain Paul Stirling’s half-century.

The opening stand was 109 runs, which set the base for the entire innings. It was then carried on by the middle-order batters. Even Harry Tector scored 56 runs off 51 balls, including six boundaries, which kept the game in Ireland’s favour. Matthew Forde and Alzarri Joseph claimed three and two wickets each.

West Indies batters could only score 179 runs and lost the match by a huge margin of 124 runs. The batters failed to score runs against Barry McCarthy as he claimed a four-wicket haul. The Caribbean team will look to take their revenge in the upcoming game or else they will lose the series.
