The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) since 2024 have revolutionised the Indian Premier League (IPL) with an electric brand of cricket, with blistering starts and high-scoring games. They have electrified crowds, fans and experts alike with their style of play, creating a model that is attractive for fans and tournament-watchers alike. In this span, they have set a lot of impressive IPL records, which are both daunting and splendid.

Here are three IPL records by SRH that may never be broken

3. Highest powerplay score (125/0)

Fireworks went off when SRH took on the Delhi Capitals on April 20, 2024. On their way to a mammoth 266/7, the Sunrisers smashed 125 runs in the first six overs without losing a single wicket. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, who formed a brutal opening partnership, took the Delhi bowlers to the cleaners in dominant fashion. 

Although Abhishek was dismissed for just 46 shortly after the powerplay, his runs came in just 12 balls. In the powerplay, he scored 40 runs off just 10 balls. Head reached his half-century off just 14 balls and finished the powerplay with 84 off just 26 balls.

2. Most sixes in a single season (178)

Sunrisers Hyderabad were a phenomenon in 2024. Their hard-hitting batting took the league by storm, and it was a daunting challenge facing the Orange Army. The team finished the 2024 season with 178 sixes, the most in the history of the IPL.

SRH had three players in the top 10 sixes hit for the season. Abhishek hit 42, leading the charts for most sixes hit in the season, and was followed by Heinrich Klaasen in third, with 38. Head with 32, was in eighth place for the same. 

1. Highest team total in an innings (287/3)

Sunrisers Hyderabad twice in 2024 broke the record for the highest total in a single innings of the IPL. On the second of those occasions, being put into bat against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Sunrisers amassed a mammoth 287/3. Head scored a brilliant century, reaching the milestone off just 39 balls in just the 12th over. 

Head was ably supported by Klaasen, who scored 68 off 31 balls. Aidem Markram, who got 32 runs off 17 balls, and Abdul Samad’s blistering unbeaten 10-ball 37 saw SRH reach the massive total. The Sunrisers hit a whopping 22 sixes in the innings, on a run-filled day at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
