Punjab Kings (PBKS) host the Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match No. 58 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Thursday, May 14, at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala.
The Kings are coming into this clash on the back of four successive losses after going unbeaten in seven games. They play their second game in Dharamshala, after being beaten by the Delhi Capitals. With 13 points in 11 games, they are still in contention for the playoffs, but will need to return to winning ways.
Here is the strongest predicted Punjab Kings XI for Match 58 vs MI:
Top order: Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh (wk), Cooper Connolly,

Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh have been one of the most exciting opening pairs in this edition of the IPL. They have scored 444 runs in ten innings at a whopping strike rate of 223.12, with three half-century stands and one century stand. Arya looked at his belligerent best against the Delhi Capitals with a score of 56, after a few recent low scores. Prabhsimran’s last half-century came in the loss to the Rajasthan Royals on April 28, which was followed by three low scores.
Cooper Connolly has been one of the revelations in 2026 IPL. The highly-rated Australian all-rounder has scored 415 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 168.02 batting at number 3. He notched up his maiden T20 century playing a lone hand against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and has looked solid at number 3 for the Kings.
Middle order: Shreyas Iyer (capt), Shashank Singh (impact), Marcus Stoinis, Suryansh Shedge,

Skipper Shreyas Iyer has continued his brilliant form with the bat into IPL 2026. He has scored 392 runs at a strike rate of 164.02, with five half-centuries. The Kings will need him to continue his form with the bat. Shashank Singh has had a poor season with the bat after showing much promise as a back-end hitter over the last two seasons.
Marcus Stoinis has found a new lease of life as a finisher for the Punjab Kings after playing his trade in the top and middle order in the IPL. He has also chipped in with the ball on occasions and picked up a wicket each against the Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals. In Suryansh Shedge, the Kings have finally unleashed one of the most potent finishers in the domestic game. He scored a brilliant 57 against the Gujarat Titans and has stepped up with vital contributions at the back end of innings.
Lower order/bowlers: Marco Jansen, Lockie Ferguson, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Yash Thakur

One of Punjab’s areas for concern has been their bowling, and it has been exemplified in Marco Jansen’s poor form with the ball. He has picked up just six wickets at an economy of 10.04, which would be a cause for concern for the Kings. Lockie Ferguson missed the game against the Capitals and is expected to slot back in as their middle-overs enforcer.
Arshdeep Singh has not had the best of seasons, but has been the leading wicket-taker for the Kings with 13 wickets at an economy of 9.93 as the strike bowler. Of his 13 scalps, seven have come in the powerplay. Yuzvendra Chahal has picked up eight wickets at an economy of 9.53, but was not used against the Capitals. Yash Thakur made his first appearance of the season against the Capitals and picked up two wickets, and bowled with control and accuracy in the powerplay.
