After being put in to bat by KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane, CSK posted a competitive 192/5 in 20 overs. Sanju Samson top-scored with 48 off 32 balls, while Dewald Brevis added a valuable 41 off 29 deliveries. Following the early dismissal of Ruturaj Gaikwad, young Ayush Mhatre provided crucial momentum with a blistering 38 off just 17 balls, striking at over 220. Brevis also stitched a 51-run stand with Sarfaraz Khan for the fourth wicket. For KKR, Kartik Tyagi was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2/35.

In response, KKR managed 160/7 in their 20 overs. Ramandeep Singh was the top scorer with 35 off 23 balls. Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi added 50 runs for the third wicket, while Ramandeep and Rovman Powell shared a 63-run stand for the seventh wicket, but it wasn’t enough to chase down the target. CSK’s bowling was led by Noor Ahmad, who claimed 3/21, while Anshul Kamboj chipped in with 2/32.

With this win, CSK moved up to eighth place in the points table with four points, while KKR remained at the bottom after suffering their fourth loss of the season.
