Sunrisers Hyderabad were one of the most entertaining teams in the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League. They will carry the same reputation in the following edition of the tournament, largely due to their fearless batting approach and ability to post massive totals.

However, inconsistency across departments prevented them from fully capitalising on their explosive starts. As they prepare for IPL 2026, the franchise will once again rely on its overseas stars to provide balance and match-winning performances. Selecting the right combination of four overseas players could be key to SRH mounting a stronger challenge in 2026.

Here are four best overseas picks for SRH in IPL 2026

4. Liam Livingstone (Batting all-rounder)

The dashing all-rounder from England, Liam Livingstone, was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping price of INR 13.00 crore at the auction ahead of the upcoming season. He is their latest addition to an already hyper-explosive batting line-up and is expected to provide a decent option with the ball as well.

Livingstone is widely known for his power hitting and ability to clear any boundary. Even though he had a disappointing campaign with the bat for the 2025 champions RCB, his quality can never be questioned. The right-hander also can give his side a few valuable overs with the ball.

3. Pat Cummins (Captain, Bowler)

At number three is their captain Pat Cummins from Australia. Known for his aggressive and offensive captaincy style, Cummins transformed this SRH side into one of the most feared teams ever. The champion fast bowler from Australia also is one of the best pacers in the world.

His availability, though, is still uncertain due to a back injury, as his participation is dependent on medical clearance. The SRH captain is recovering from a setback that ruled him out of the T20 World Cup 2026. Cummins still remains one of the key players for the 2016 champions.

2. Travis Head (Opener)

The explosive opener from Australia, Travis Head will once again don the orange jersey along with his opening partner, Abhishek Sharma. They are undoubtedly one of the deadliest opening pairs in the history of the competition, giving a scared thought to even the best bowling attacks in the world.

In IPL 2025, Head had scored 374 runs with a strike rate of 162.60 for the Sunrisers and was one of their most important players. This year too, there will be expectations on his shoulders to carry their batting line-up and take the Orange Army home to their second IPL title.

1. Heinrich Klaasen (Wicketkeeper-batter)

The most important overseas player in SRH’s squad is South African wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen. Known for his all-round batting game, Klaasen can take on any bowling attack on his own.

He was also their highest run-getter of the tournament in IPL 2025, scoring 487 runs with a strike rate of 172.69, which also included a stunning 37-ball century against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Klaasen will undoubtedly be their most important player for IPL 2026.
