PL 2025: Riyan Parag’s ‘inner conscience’ tweet resurfaces as he hits six consecutive sixes (Source: IPL)
A social media post uploaded by Riyan Parag on X (formerly known as Twitter) from 2023 has resurfaced and is currently doing the rounds on social media after he struck five sixes off Moeen Ali during the game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens. Moeen’s third over of the game was taken apart for 32 runs.
In fact, Parag outdid his expectations by an additional maximum off the Englishman’s over. The all-rounder was treated with utter disdain by RR’s standby skipper. Four consecutive sixes were followed up a wide, post which Parag smacked another maximum to make it five in the over.
Notably, Parag’s tweet in the month of March in 2023 just ahead of the IPL season that year. Parag’s obliteration of Moeen seems to have completely changed the complexion of the game. Before the commencement of the over, RR required 105 off 48 balls. Parag became the first batter in the history of the IPL to hit six sixes off consecutive deliveries, five of which came in the 13th over. His sixth maximum came off Varun Chakravarthy in the subsequent over.

Irfan Pathan’s early prediction nearly realizes
Former Indian cricketer, Irfan Pathan, had made a forecast for Parag to score at least one century in IPL 2025. His tweet came in just four games into the current season. At the time of writing, Parag is well and truly on his way to validate Irfan’s prediction.
Earlier in the game, Parag was one of the standout bowlers for his side. He ended up conceding 21 runs in his three overs, including a wicket of his opposite number, Ajinkya Rajane, who scored only 30 off 24 deliveries.
