In Match 54 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), Punjab Kings (PBKS) registered an emphatic 37-run win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. Opting to bowl first, LSG were blown away by a blistering Punjab batting performance.

Put into bat, Punjab posted a mammoth 236/5 in their 20 overs. The highlight of the innings was Prabhsimran Singh’s explosive 91 off 48 balls, laced with six fours and seven sixes. He dominated the LSG bowlers, especially in the middle overs. Shreyas Iyer, the PBKS captain, played a brilliant cameo with 45 off just 25 balls, while Shashank Singh (33* off 15) and Marcus Stoinis (15* off 5) finished strongly.

In response, Lucknow Super Giants managed 199/7 in their 20 overs, falling short by 37 runs. Ayush Badoni’s quickfire 74 off 40 gave LSG some hope, but regular wickets derailed the chase. Abdul Samad also chipped in with a fiery 45 off 24, but it wasn’t enough.

Punjab’s bowling was spearheaded by Arshdeep Singh, who claimed 3/16 in his four overs, including the key wickets of Marsh, Markram, and Pooran. Azmatullah Omarzai and Marco Jansen chipped in with two and one wicket respectively.

Here are the milestones achieved during PBKS vs LSG, Match 54 of IPL 2025:

  • Abdul Samad: Played his 100th T20 match.

  • Punjab Kings: Third-highest total for PBKS while batting first in the IPL – 236/5 (20 overs).
