The Match No. 7 of IPL 2025 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) saw the latter registering victory by five wickets and 23 deliveries to spare on Thursday, March 27. This was LSG’s fourth win in five games over the Orange Army.

Travis Head threatened to take the game away from LSG. However, he departed for 47 to become the promising Prince Yadav’s debut IPL wicket. Shardul Thakur had already dented SRH early by scalping Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan in consecutive overs.

Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen carried the innings forward. However, they could not get going during their knocks. Aniket Verma powered the innings by smashing five maximums during his stay. Harshal Patel did not strike any boundary in his 11-ball stay. Captain Pat Cummins’ 18 off four deliveries saw SRH end up with 190 for the loss of nine wickets on the board at the end of the first innings.

Aiden Markram departed quite early during the run-chase. However, Mitchell Marsh, being subbed in ahead of the second innings as an Impact Player, forged a remarkable century-plus stand to drive their side closer to victory. Nicholas Pooran brought up his fifty in 18 deliveries, the fastest of the season. The Australian batter, however, was dismissed shortly after getting to his fifty.

Cummins dismissed both Marsh and Pooran to bring SRH back into the context. After his six-ball duck in the first game, Pant was dismissed for a run-a-ball 15. However, David Miller (13*) and Abdul Samad (22*) combined to lead their side to a convincing victory at the end.
