The Gujarat Titans (GT) were clinical in all departments to secure a 38-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 51 of IPL 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The victory guided them to second on the points table, while SRH are on the brink of elimination.
Winning the toss, SRH skipper Pat Cummins opted to bowl first, but the decision backfired as the Titans raced to 82/0 in the powerplay making it their highest ever as Shubman Gill and B Sai Sudharsan ran through Hyderabad’s bowling attack. The opening duo added 87 in just 41 balls, with Sudharsan smashing 48 off 23 before falling to Zeeshan Ansari.
Gill, who was later run out controversially for 76 off 38 balls, continued his sublime form, reaching his half-century in just 25 balls. Jos Buttler also played a crucial role, hammering 64 off 37 deliveries. With some contributions from the lower-order, GT posted 224/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
In reply, SRH got off to a decent start, reaching 57/1 at the end of the powerplay. Abhishek Sharma looked in good touch, reaching a 28-ball half-century and keeping the chase alive with a 74 off 41 balls. However, once he departed while trying to accelerate in the 15th over, SRH’s hopes were quashed.

GT’s bowlers, especially Prasidh Krishna, who finished with figures of 2/19 from four overs, was once again the pick of the bowlers for the side. He dismissed Heinrich Klaasen and Travis Head. Gerald Coetzee and Mohammed Siraj also chipped in with wickets as GT restricted the visitors to 186/6.
