Hardik Pandya won the toss and invited the home side to bat first. Mitchell Marsh played a blinder of a knock inside the powerplay. He took the bulk of the strike and amassed 60 off just 31 balls with the help of nine fours and two sixes.
The in-form Nicholas Pooran looked good, but Hardik ended his six-ball stay at the crease. Rishabh Pant’s insipid start to IPL 2025 with the bat got a fresh chapter as he departed for two runs after playing six balls. He was dismissed by his opposite number.

He would have wanted to improve his strike rate in the death overs, but Hardik dismissed him for a 38-ball 53.
David Miller played a fine cameo at the back end of the innings, scoring 27 off just 14 balls to take the hosts to the 200-run mark. Hardik conceded two boundaries in the last over but picked up as many wickets to finish with his best figures in T20 cricket of 5/36.
