Hosts Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) posted 166/7 on the board in the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match 30 of the ongoing IPL 2025 (Indian Premier League). The home side was asked to bat first by MS Dhoni, who thought dew could play a part with the progression of the match. CSK’s bowlers operated well and ensured the home side did not run away with the game.

Batting first, LSG lost two early wickets. While Aiden Markram perished for a 6(6), Nicholas Pooran was dismissed for 8(9). What followed was the recovery from the Lucknow-based franchise. Mitchell Marsh and Rishabh Pant steadied the innings. While Marsh scored 30(25) and perished, Pant continued his knock.

The Southpaw scored his first fifty of the season. Despite struggling in the middle overs, Pant ended up scoring 63(49), which included 4 fours and sixes each. LSG’s innings got the much-needed impetus through Abdul Samad’s finishing touches. His 20(11) and Shardul Thakur’s little cameo helped LSG to post 166 runs on the board.

For CSK, Noor Ahmad and Ravindra Jadeja bowled well. Noor was at his economical best and returned with 0/13 in his 4 overs. Jadeja finished with 2/34 in his 3 overs, including the wickets of Mitchell Marsh and Ayush Badoni. Towards the end, Matheesha Pathirana claimed a couple of wickets.
