Delhi Capitals’ bowlers were left shell-shocked as Kolkata Knight Riders scored 272/7 from their 20 overs. This was the second-highest team total in the history of IPL and came exactly seven days after SRH had set the mark.

Sunil Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored fifties to knock the Delhi Bowlers off their stride. Andre Russell and Rinku Singh then swung their willows to help KKR reach the mammoth total on the board.

Delhi Capitals: 50 runs in 5.5 overs

Mitchell Starc and Vaibhav Arora decimated the Delhi Capitals top-order. Mitchell Marsh and David Warner fell to Starc, while Arora got Prithvi Shaw and Abhishek Porel.

Powerplay 1: Overs 0.1 to 6 (Mandatory -51/4)

Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs made sure that the team does not suffer any more losses. The crowd responded with absolute silence as the game was more or less a lost affair.

50-run stand – Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs (31 balls)

Delhi Capitals had something to cheer about as Pant and Stubbs put on 50 runs for the fifth wicket. Shreyas Iyer put down an easy catch off Varun Chakravarthy to help the DC pair reach the milestone

First Strategic time-out: Delhi Capitals- 83/4 (9 Overs)

Kolkata Knight Riders’ bowlers kept things under control despite Pant and Stubbs getting stuck in. At this stage of the innings DC still needed 190 runs from 66 balls left to play.

Delhi Capitals: 100 runs in 11.1 overs

Rishabh Pant played a scoop sweep shot against Venkatesh Iyer to help Delhi Capitals reach the 100-run mark. At that stage of the innings KKR had already gone past 150 runs.

Half-century – Rishabh Pant (off 23 balls)

Just days after scoring his first fifty of the IPL 2024 season, Rishabh Pant came good again. The 26-year-old scored his 17th fifty to record his second successive fifty of the season.

Half-century: Tristan Stubbs (off 28 balls)

Young South African star Tristan Stubbs didn’t drop the towel as he reached his 50. The right-handed batter played a few remarkable shots to leave the commentators stunned.

Delhi Capitals: 150 runs in 14.2 overs

With wickets falling at regular intervals, Tristan Stubbs played well to score 54 runs. Varun Chakravarthy got his third wicket when Starc took an easy catch to dismiss the Proteas batter.

Second Strategic Time-out: Delhi Capitals 159/8 (15.1 overs)

Sunil Narine got the wicket of Sumit Kumar for seven to hurtle Delhi Capitals to a huge loss. The second time-out was taken more as a formality rather than a necessity.

End of the game: Delhi Capitals: 166 all out (17.2 overs)

The misery ended for Delhi Capitals as the final wicket of Anrich Nortje fell for four. Delhi Capitals lost their third game of the season by 4 runs and will next play the Mumbai Indians.
