IPL 2024: Delhi Capitals’ 1st Innings Highlights against CSK in Match 13

It is a hectic Sunday in the Indian Premier League 2024 season. Visakhapatnam is witnessing an amazing game between home side Delhi Capitals against defending champions Chennai Super Kings.

Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to bat first as Prithvi Shaw made his comeback to the team in place of Ricky Bhui. Kuldeep Yadav was rested due to niggle as Ishant Sharma replaced the bowler. Chennai Super Kings went in with the same team that had won both matches so far.

Delhi Capitals made a cautious start by scoring just 24 runs from the four overs. Prithvi Shaw and David Warner then opened their arms to score 38 runs from 2 overs. Mustafizur Rahman conceded 18 runs from his first over as DC ended the powerplay at 62/0

The home team reached its fifty during the 6th over of the 1st innings. Prithvi Shaw played a fine shot to the fine leg region to make use full use of the free hit thanks to the no-ball.

David Warner: 50 off 32 balls (5×4 and 3×6)

Australian star David Warner continued his fine start to the IPL 2024 season. After falling for 49 in the previous game the Aussie batter got to his 62nd IPL fifty with a single.

Delhi Capitals: 100 runs in 10.3 overs (64 balls) Extras 6

Prithvi Shaw smashed a massive six to reach 43 runs and also take Delhi past the 100-run mark. The century mark was reached in 10.3 overs with just one wicket down at that stage.

After reaching the 100 mark, Prithvi Shaw was out in the very next ball for 43. Delhi Capitals further lost Mitchell Marsh and Tristan Stubbs to Matheesha Pathirana.

After getting an aggressive start, Delhi Capitals lost their way thanks to a regular fall of wickets. The 150 came up in the 18th over with Rishabh Pant hitting a boundary.

The skipper of Delhi Capitals made his first fifty since his return to the cricket field. The mark was reached in the 4th ball of the 19th over with a four against Pathirana.

Innings Break: Delhi Capitals – 191/5 in 20 overs

Axar Patel and Abhishek Porel combined to score 12 runs off the last over against Mustafizur Rahman. This helped Delhi Capitals reach 191/5 from their 20 overs.
