Shubham Ranjane has earned a maiden international call-up for USA after fulfilling his residency requirements. He has previously been a part of Rajasthan Royals and Maharashtra.

Ranjane had relocated to the United States in 2022. He has thrived as a power-hitter and medium pacer in the domestic system of USA. Ranjane provided an instant impact to Seattle Thunderbolts’ campaign with his all-round outings during the 2022 MiLC season. The 31-year-old’s stick has only risen over time. He has also received deals from the SA20 and the ILT20.

It was a surprise that he was released by Seattle Orcas ahead of MLC 2024. Texas Super Kings later snapped him as the as the No.1 draft. In eight innings, Ranjane has scored 268 runs at a strike rate over 160. TSK lost in Qualifier 2, however, it was yet another good season for Ranjane.

Ranjane was picked ahead of 37-year-old Shadley van Schalkwyk. Former vice-captain Aaron Jones was dropped from the USA setup after a poor run of form with the bat.

As of USA’s position in the 2023/24-2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 on October 25, they are placed second behind Scotland. USA will be aiming on having a positive outing of the ICC WCL 2 in Nepal from the coming Sunday in the midst of administrative turbulence which involves USA Cricket being suspended by the International Cricket Council.

USA’s largest victory in the cycle was their 10-wicket win over United Arab Emirates in September last year. USA’s next three international matches involve Nepal, UAE, Nepal and UAE on October 26, October 28, November 1 and November 3, respectively.

USA’s squad: Monank Patel (c), Jessy Singh (vc), Saurabh Netravalkar, Rushil Ugarkar, Nosthush Kenjige, Milind Kumar, Smit Patel, Shayan Jahangir, Juanoy Drysdale, Sanjay Krishnamurthi, Harmeet Singh, Yasir Mohammad, Saiteja Mukkamalla, Shubham Ranjane, Andries Gous
