The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have recalled star batter Danni Wyatt-Hodge for the three-match T20I series against India ahead of the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup. The Three Lions have also included the in-form Maia Bouchier in their roster, which will take on India starting from Thursday, May 28.

Wyatt-Hodge has not featured for England this summer so far due to the birth of her daughter. The right-handed batter has played a few games for Surrey in the One Day Cup before taking a temporary leave from the game to spend time with her wife. The 35-year-old, however, will come back to the national team’s setup for the final two matches of the series. Being an important member of England’s side, it would be vital for Wyatt-Hodge to play some competitive international cricket ahead of the showpiece tournament.

“Danni Wyatt-Hodge will join the England Women squad ahead of the three-match Vitality IT20 series with India and will be available for the final two matches. As a result Charis Pavely has now returned to Warwickshire. Maia Bouchier has been added to the squad for the India series, while Lauren Filer has been released to play for Durham against Surrey on Wednesday before returning to the squad for the rest of the India series,” an official ECB statement read.

As a result of Wyatt-Hodge’s entry into the T20I squad, England has released Charis Pavely, who has returned to Warwickshire for the T20 Blast competition. The 21-year-old failed to add to their two T20I caps, which she won back in 2024.

Bouchier, on the other hand, has also been called in for the T20I series against India. The Hampshire batter, however, has not been included in England’s Women’s T20 World Cup squad. The 27-year-old did play three T20 matches against New Zealand and remains a handy backup for the Lionesses to fall back on should Nat Sciver-Brunt continue to miss out due to her recent injury.
