Champions Trophy 2025 Winner Prize Money, Complete List of Award-Winners, Top Records & Stats - All You Need To Know

India won the Champions Trophy 2025 for the first time since 2013 after beating New Zealand in a riveting final on Sunday, March 9, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Opting to bat first, New Zealand got off to a rollicking start as Rachin Ravindra batted aggressively inside the first powerplay. Will Young was dismissed by Varun Chakaravarthy in the eighth over, and this opened the floodgates for the Men in Blue. Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Rachin and Kane Williamson in consecutive overs as the Kiwis slumped to 75/3 in the 13th over.

Daryl Mitchell and Tom Latham tried to steady the ship, but Ravindra Jadeja broke the sedate 33-run stand in the 24th over when he sent the wicketkeeper-batter packing. Glenn Phillips played an uncharacteristic knock as he tried to build a partnership with Mitchell. They added 57 runs for the fifth wicket off 87 balls.

Phillips was dismissed by Chakaravarthy for 34. Mitchell, however, batted cautiously and notched up an important half-century. Michael Bracewell helped New Zealand finish strongly in the death overs as they posted 251/7 in their 50 overs.

Rohit Sharma grabbed the bull by the horns inside the powerplay as he took the attack to the Kiwi bowlers. Shubman Gill complemented his captain nicely by dropping anchor. They added 105 runs inside the first 19 overs and it seemed like India would run away with the game.

However, New Zealand bagged three quick wickets, squeezing the flow of runs with their spinners. Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel added 61 runs for the fourth wicket to help settle the nerves. However, both batters were dismissed in quick time as India needed Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul to step up. They batted freely and added 38 runs off 36 balls. The former was dismissed when India needed just 11 runs to win.

Ravindra Jadeja finished proceedings by hitting a boundary behind square leg. India romped home with four wickets and an over to spare.
